Raised!
” … how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!”
Raised! is the fourth and final ”season” of Our Father’s Evangelical Church in the fictional town of Monument, California. Grabbing the baton from his grandfather Colby over 90 years later, Ian Block revives the writing of his own personal journal, “Mental Ward: Prayers and Observations by Ian Block.”
On its pages, Ian chronicles a unique, 11-year period of life as it is promised, offered, tossed and thrown to him, including: the marriages of his two daughters, his very first sermon, turning 50, going back to school, insurance nightmares, the ups and downs at “O.F.E.” that are anything but pastoral, the often agonizing process of adoption, becoming a grandfather, moving out of state, and the greatest disaster ever to befall his sleepy little town and its one and only church.
“Heads will roll!” all the way up to an ending that will hopefully catch no one by surprise! So join Ian as he enlightens “Dear Diary,” and vise-versa! Not only on the Son’s resurrection power through His local church, but that very same power raising up each and every believer who calls the 100-year-old place their home away from home.

A Fitting Conclusion to the Series
“Following Ian Block on his journey to the pulpit is an emotional, courageous trip filled with love, some sadness, and (as always) the guiding hand of God. While Ian does have many potential obstacles he must face in order to “grow” forward, his wife and daughters are always in his corner and by his side; eventually! Each book has been my “favorite” and this is no exception. Another well written and very enjoyable read, which I highly recommend.”

Buckle up for this ride!
“The Block family saga continues in the last book in this series. Relationships are messy and the characters in this poignant story are no exception. The ups and downs will make you chuckle and may bring a tear to your eye. Life can be heartwarming and heartbreaking but Ian recognizes God’s hand in it all. This has a sweet, satisfying conclusion to a dramatic story. I loved it!”

Other Believers Go Through This?
“I was raised in the church. I raised my kids in the church and Im still in the church… so this book hits very close to home, even straddling it sometimes with a Red Ryder BB gun that can put your eye out, if your not careful! 👀
Then as I continued reading, I realized that our lanes were actually merging and we were carpooling together. Thanks to the author for transparency, hope, and for opening up your first aid kit to share some bandages along this difficult journey. This book has “raised” my level of encouragement as I continue the drive!”

“Raised! continues the author’s tendencies to use well-thought-out literary devices found in the first three books: 1) comparison-and-contrast examples; 2) skillfully constructed extended metaphors; 3) better and better use of alliteration. These are literary leanings that many other authors can only dream about.”
